The NDIS provides funding to participants, including the elderly and people with disabilities, aimed at increasing their independence, inclusion, social and economic participation.

Programs and services funded by the NDIS need to:

  • be related to the participant’s disability
  • not include day-to-day living costs that are not related to a participant’s disability support needs
  • represent value for money
  • be effective and beneficial to the participant, and
  • take into account informal supports given to participants by families, carers, networks, and the community.

Securus offers its customers the solosafe personal safety device, which is an NDIS approved service under Assistive Technology.

The solosafe personal safety device for independent living and home care services is an easy-to-use device designed to allow active seniors and people suffering from chronic health conditions to maintain their independence and lifestyle.

With one push of a button, solosafe provides an immediate and professional response from our 24/7 ASIAL Grade A1 Security Monitoring Centre, ensuring peace of mind for the user and their families.

If you are an NDIS participant, you may be eligible to receive funding for the solosafe device and monitoring if assistive technology supports are specified in your NDIS plan.
