WA security rebates and CCTV grants

A security rebate may help with the cost of an eligible CCTV system, home alarm or other approved safety equipment. The programs below serve different people and properties, and their application steps are not the same.

Find the program that applies to you, check its current rules with the authority offering it, then ask Securus for a quote suited to your property. The administering authority decides eligibility and approves any rebate.

For WA small businesses

The WA Government’s Small Business Resilience Program supports eligible retail and customer-facing small businesses installing new or upgraded internal CCTV.

Small Business Resilience Program — CCTV Rebate

Up to 50% of eligible costs, capped at $2,000

Applications are open. Core eligibility includes a WA retail or customer-facing business with fewer than 20 employees, an active ABN and GST registration. The CCTV system and installation must also meet the program requirements.

Check the approval sequence before booking installation. The program requires pre-approval. Funding is limited and applications close when the funding target is reached.

Securus can discuss camera positions, recording needs and your existing equipment, then prepare an itemised quote for your premises. Approval and the rebate amount remain the SBDC’s decision.

For homes and local properties

The WA Seniors Card scheme and several local councils have separate security rebates. Check your address, card status, eligible equipment and whether approval is needed before you purchase or install anything.

WA Seniors Card

Up to $400 per eligible household

The Safety and Security Rebate includes eligible home alarms and CCTV. The minimum purchase or installation value for these systems is $200.

Under the current scheme, an eligible household can claim once during the life of the scheme for one or more approved items. The eligible purchase or installation must be completed and paid for before claiming. Ongoing monitoring and subscription charges are excluded.

City of Wanneroo

30% of eligible new CCTV costs, up to $500

Residents, businesses and community groups in the City of Wanneroo may be eligible for the 2026/27 CCTV Rebate Scheme. Apply for written pre-approval before installation. Pre-approval applications are open until 1 April 2027 or until funds are exhausted.

The proposed system must meet the City’s hard-wired camera, resolution, recording, night-vision and public-facing-view requirements. A licensed installer must carry out the work.

A professional installation may qualify for 30% of eligible costs; eligible self-installed equipment may qualify for 20%. The total rebate is capped at $500.

The City requires purchases made on or after 1 April 2026 and has rules for previous claims and the type of item purchased. Check those conditions before ordering.

City of South Perth

Up to $300 or $250, depending on eligibility

The City’s Home Safety and Security Equipment Rebate Program includes eligible alarms and CCTV. Eligible applicants over 18 may receive up to $300 with a qualifying Pensioner Concession or Health Care Card, or up to $250 without a qualifying concession card.

A WA Seniors Card alone does not count as a concession card for the City’s $300 category. The separate state Seniors rebate may apply to an eligible Seniors Card household.

City of Vincent or another WA council? The WA Seniors Card rebate may apply anywhere in WA. Check your council’s official website for any local scheme. This directory highlights programs verified on council pages; it is not a claim that every WA local government offers or lacks a rebate.

Before you arrange the work

  1. Check the official program. Confirm that your property, applicant and proposed equipment meet its current rules. Ask the authority if any eligibility point is unclear.
  2. Confirm when to apply. The WA business CCTV, Wanneroo and Melville programs require pre-approval before installation. Other schemes may require the purchase and installation first, or have a short claim window. Follow the specific authority’s process.
  3. Request a suitable quote. Tell Securus which program interests you so the quote can identify the site, proposed equipment, installation and relevant licence details. The authority may require further evidence or a particular quote format.

If you rent or your property is subject to strata rules, check whether written permission is needed before installation. Keep your quote, invoice, paid receipt and other documents required by the program.

Common questions

Does every CCTV system qualify?

No. Requirements vary by program. The WA business rebate concerns eligible internal CCTV, while Wanneroo specifies a new hard-wired system with particular camera, recorder and coverage requirements. Check the program before choosing equipment.

Can I apply after my cameras have already been installed?

It depends on the scheme. The WA business CCTV, Wanneroo and Melville schemes require approval before installation. Cambridge’s terms require an installed system before applying, within a limited time. Other programs have their own dates and evidence requirements. Check the relevant authority before proceeding.

Can I use more than one rebate?

Some applicants may meet the rules for more than one program, but do not assume that the same costs can be claimed twice. Ask both administering authorities how their funding rules apply to your situation.

Can Securus guarantee my rebate?

Securus can discuss a suitable security system and provide a quote. Each program’s administering authority makes the eligibility, approval and payment decisions. Funding and rules can change.
