Eligible Western Australian small businesses will soon be able to apply for a rebate towards a new or upgraded internal CCTV system under the WA Government’s Small Business Resilience Program – CCTV Rebate.
The program offers up to 50% of eligible purchase and installation costs, excluding GST, capped at $2,000. Applications are opening soon, with businesses able to register for updates through the Small Business Development Corporation (SBDC).
For business owners considering CCTV, or an upgrade to an existing system, this is an opportunity to review camera coverage, recording quality and how easily footage can be retrieved when an incident occurs.
Who is eligible?
Key criteria include operating a retail or customer-facing business in WA, having fewer than 20 employees, an active ABN and GST registration. Other conditions apply, including restrictions on subsidiaries of larger groups.
What must the system include?
The rebate supports internal CCTV with:
- Hard-wired cameras covering the customer entrance and point of sale.
- At least 5-megapixel resolution on every camera.
- A recording device with at least 3 terabytes of storage.
- Infrared or low-light capability for night recording.
- Time and date stamps, with footage exportable in a standard video format to portable storage such as USB.
Prepare your quote before applications open
Quotes must be dated after 6 October 2026 and include the required specifications and licence details. Tenants also need written owner or agent consent.
You must receive SBDC pre-approval before installation. Systems must be registered with WA Police Cam-Map before claiming the rebate. Funding is limited, and complete applications are assessed in submission order.
