Ask most security companies which camera you should install, and you’ll get the same answer every time – whichever brand they happen to sell.

We’ve taken a different approach. Securus supplies and installs our own sourced camera range and every major manufacturer on the market. Not because we’re indecisive, but because after more than 35 years of installing security systems across Western Australia, we’ve learned that no single brand is the right answer for every site.

The problem with brand-locked installers

Many installers specialise in a single manufacturer, and in some cases that approach works well. However, no single platform is the best fit for every application. A small retail shop, a heritage home, a school campus and a remote industrial site all have different requirements, and manufacturers vary in their strengths across analytics, low-light performance, integration, environmental suitability and management features.

A good security system starts with the outcome you’re trying to achieve, not the logo on the equipment. When an installer is limited to a single ecosystem, there is often less flexibility to select the most appropriate technology for the site, which can lead to compromises in performance, functionality or long-term scalability.

The challenge often appears years later. Security systems are long-term assets, and requirements change over time. Equipment reaches end of life, sites expand, and technologies evolve. Systems built around proprietary or highly restricted platforms can become harder and more expensive to maintain, upgrade or expand, particularly if products are discontinued or the original supplier is no longer available.

That’s why we place significant emphasis on interoperability, open standards and long-term serviceability. The goal isn’t simply to install a system that works today, but one that can continue to be supported, maintained and adapted throughout its operational life

Our own sourced range

Our own camera and recorder range provides a feature-rich, reliable and cost-effective alternative to the major manufacturers. Our systems deliver the functionality most customers are looking for, including advanced analytics, high-resolution imaging, remote access and professional-grade recording capabilities, without the cost of premium enterprise platforms.

By sourcing directly, we can offer a carefully selected product range based on performance, functionality and value, rather than being limited to a single manufacturer’s portfolio. Direct sourcing also reduces supply chain costs, helping us deliver competitively priced solutions without compromising on installation quality, commissioning or ongoing support.

For many customers, this provides the right balance of affordability, performance and reliability, while maintaining compatibility with broader security ecosystems through recognised industry standards.

Intelligent Analytics, Not Just Motion Detection

Our cameras incorporate onboard analytics, including human and vehicle classification, facial detection, line crossing, intrusion zones, and area entry or exit alerts.

Unlike traditional motion detection, which simply reacts to changes within the image, modern analytics can classify objects before generating an event. This significantly reduces nuisance alerts caused by factors such as moving vegetation, insects, shadows, rain or vehicle headlights.

The result is more relevant notifications, faster incident review and a better user experience. In practice, a system that generates fewer false alarms is a system people are more likely to use effectively over the long term.

Detail where you need it

The range covers 6MP and 4K (8MP) models, the latter on a Sony sensor. In practice that’s the difference between knowing someone was there and being able to identify who, or read a plate at the end of a driveway.

Built for Australian conditions

  • IP67-rated housings – sealed against dust ingress and heavy rain
  • 4,000V lightning protection – relevant on exposed rural, coastal and industrial sites
  • 0.01 lux low-light sensitivity with 20–30 metre infrared range for genuine night coverage
  • 100dB wide dynamic range, so a picture of a face remains viewable against a bright doorway or harsh Perth afternoon sun

Recorders that keep recording

Our network video recorders are designed to deliver reliable recording, straightforward footage retrieval and long-term flexibility. Intelligent search tools and analytics support help users quickly locate relevant events, while support for recognised industry standards simplifies integration with compatible cameras and future system expansion.

Support for H.265 and Ultra 265 video compression helps maximise storage efficiency by reducing bandwidth and hard drive requirements without compromising recording quality. In practical terms, this can extend footage retention periods, reduce storage costs and make more efficient use of available disk capacity, particularly on systems with multiple high-resolution cameras.

The result is a recording platform focused on what matters most: reliable footage retention, efficient incident investigation and the flexibility to adapt as the site and its requirements evolve

And here’s the part that matters most

Every camera and recorder we source is ONVIF and RTSP compliance.

In plain terms: our cameras work with other manufacturers’ recorders, and our recorders work with other manufacturers’ cameras. You are not locked into us. If you want to expand the system in five years with a different brand, or bring in another installer, you can.

That’s not an accident of procurement. It’s the whole point.

Every camera we source is installed and supported by our own technicians, backed by our own warranty, and monitored, if you choose, through our ASIAL Grade A1 Perth-based Monitoring Centre.

The brands we supply and install

For sites that call for a specific manufacturer, we’re not restricted. We regularly design, supply and install systems built on:

CCTV Cameras and recorders

  • Axis
  • Ajax
  • Bosch
  • Avigilon
  • Hanwha Vision
  • Hikvision
  • HiLook
  • Dahua
  • Uniview
  • Vivotek

Video management software

  • Milestone – enterprise-grade VMS for multi-site and large-camera-count deployments
  • HikCentral – cost effective enterprise VMS for multi-site and large-camera-count Hikvision deployments.

 Integrated alarm and visual verification

  • Ajax – wireless alarm and detection systems, with integrated still cameras

If your site already runs one of these, we can service, expand or upgrade it rather than insisting on a full replacement.

How we actually choose

When we quote a site, the camera comes last, not first. We work through:

  • What you’re trying to see, and at what distance – identification, recognition or general observation all need different lenses
  • Lighting conditions across the full day and night cycle
  • Environment – dust, salt, heat, vibration, exposure
  • How long you need footage retained, and where it’s stored
  • Whether the system needs to integrate with existing hardware, alarms or monitoring
  • Whether the site is likely to expand

Only then do we specify hardware. Sometimes that’s our own range. Sometimes it’s Axis or Bosch because the application genuinely calls for it. Often it’s a mix – premium cameras where detail matters most, and cost-effective coverage elsewhere.

What this means for you

  • Honest recommendations. We have no incentive to push one brand, because we carry them all.
  • Correctly sized systems. Three well-specified cameras in the right positions beat eight poorly placed ones, and we’ll tell you that even though it’s a smaller invoice.
  • No lock-in. Your system can be serviced, expanded and repaired for years, by us or by anyone suitably trained & licensed technician.
  • Local support. Perth-based technicians, Perth-based monitoring, and a company that has been here for over 35 years.
